Belize has three species of toucans: the Emerald, the Keel Billed and the Collared Aracari. These Aracaris are feeding on the seed pod of a climbing jungle plant, possibly a philodendron.
The collared aracaris are unusual for toucans in that they roost socially throughout the year, up to six adults and fledged young sleeping in the same hole with tails folded over their backs.
